Step by step
These are the steps you need to take to start working with Ramnext as a taxi driver.

Go to any vehicle inspection station (Stacja Kontroli Pojazdów) and ask for the additional taxi inspection for ride-hailing apps. To pass it, your car should have a taxi lamp, a spare wheel or repair kit, a warning triangle, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit and a high-visibility vest. You can order a taxi lamp on Allegro.pl, and the inspection costs PLN 64.

After a successful inspection, the vehicle inspection station will give you a certificate. Take it to the vehicle registration department (wydział komunikacji), where an official will add the TAXI annotation to your registration certificate.

You can have the taxi driver tests done at any occupational medicine clinic. Based on the tests, you will receive a medical certificate and a psychological certificate confirming that you are fit to work as a taxi driver.

Go to any district court and apply for a criminal record certificate in paper form, because the electronic version is not accepted. The certificate costs PLN 30, and in most cities it is issued on the spot.
You can get it at the Regional Court in Gdańsk (Sąd Okręgowy w Gdańsku), ul. Nowe Ogrody 30/34, 80-803 Gdańsk,

or at the District Court in Sopot (Sąd Rejonowy w Sopocie), ul. 1 Maja 10, 81-828 Sopot.

This is the last step, after you have collected the licence extract. Mark your car according to Bolt's guide for the Tricity and send 3 photos of the marked car and a photo of your third-party liability (OC) insurance policy to kontakt@ramnext.pl.

Driving a rented car?
The car is ready, so there is nothing for you to do with it: you skip steps 1 and 2 and do not need the registration certificate.

Choose one of them. Both lead to the same result: a taxi licence extract for your car and your registration on the list of drivers at the city office.

Free of charge
You do not need notarised copies. We will send you the ready applications to an InPost parcel locker at our expense.

Sign up in the driver portal, then complete and sign the contracts. Also download the rental agreement from the portal (Umowy tab → "Umowa najmu (Licencjonowanie)"), fill it in with the data from the registration certificate and sign it by hand.➝ Remember to add the co-owner (if listed in the registration certificate), who must also sign it.➝ For a leased car, you need the bank's consent to lend the vehicle free of charge to Ramnext Sp. z o.o.

Send photos of your documents to kontakt@ramnext.pl and give us the number of your InPost parcel locker:3
At our expense, we will send to the parcel locker you choose: the application for a licence extract for your car, the application to register you as a taxi driver under our licence, a power of attorney and the confirmation of receipt of the licence extract.

With the applications, the power of attorney, the completed rental agreement, the original documents and a 35 × 45 mm photo, go to the city office of the city where you want to drive: the City Office in Gdańsk, Residents' Service Team no. 5 (Urząd Miejski w Gdańsku, ul. Żaglowa 11), the City Office in Gdynia, licence desk (Urząd Miasta Gdyni, al. Marszałka Piłsudskiego 52/54, room 207) or the City Office in Sopot, Transport Unit (Urząd Miasta Sopotu, ul. Kościuszki 20) and submit the application free of charge. You do not pay anything. The criminal record certificate must not be older than 30 days on the day you submit the application.

The office has 30 days to issue the extract. Once you collect it, send us a photo of the extract and of the signed confirmation of receipt of the licence extract.
Option 2
Cost of notarised copies
We submit the application at the city office for you. You send us the documents from an InPost parcel locker, at our expense.

To register you as a taxi driver with the city office in the Tricity, we need:2
Let us know when you have everything and send photos of the documents to kontakt@ramnext.pl. We will check that they are correct and keep them in the company records. Do not take a picture of the 35 × 45 mm photo - it only goes in the parcel.

We will text you a code for the InPost parcel locker. Put the documents in the locker and send them to us - the shipment is at our expense.

Once the documents reach us, we will take care of the rest. We will apply for a taxi licence extract for your car and register you on the list of drivers at the city office. The office has 30 days to issue the extract.

City requirements
To legally operate as a taxi in the Tricity, your car must meet specific signage requirements. The city sets out precisely which elements must be on the car. Correct signage is not just a formality but an obligation checked by the Road Transport Inspection (Inspekcja Transportu Drogowego). Missing or incorrect signage can result in a fine or even problems with continuing to carry passengers. Below we show exactly what taxi signage should look like in the Tricity.
The TAXI lamp is one of the most recognisable elements of taxi signage. It should be mounted on the roof of the car. The lamp is usually magnetic and, for app-based work, does not need to be plugged into the cigarette lighter socket.

Side numbers should be placed in the middle of the front right and left doors of the vehicle. In Gdańsk, side numbers have a set design with the city coat of arms. They can be stickers or magnetic overlays, which many drivers choose and which are also fully allowed.

In Gdańsk, the taxi driver ID card is issued by the City Office together with the taxi licence extract. It should be placed inside the vehicle where passengers can see it. Most drivers put the ID card on the dashboard so that customers can easily read the details during the ride.
For the ID card you need a passport-style photo (35 × 45 mm), the same as for a Polish ID card - have it ready together with your documents.
In Gdańsk, price lists are placed on the window of the right rear door, in the top left corner as seen from inside the vehicle. The price list should be double-sided - readable from both outside and inside the vehicle.
